“The challenge of proving I’m the best,” Brian
Collette said when asked what made him want to start
competing. With his most recently earned WKA USA K-1
Heavyweight Championship Title at CSC 34, in Richmond,
Virginia, Brian is well on his way to proving this to
the world. Collette has been a force to be reckoned
with in the ring; racking up an impressive amateur
record of 14-0 and a professional record of 3-0,
almost all wins by KO or TKO..
His mother started him into martial arts
at the age of 14 years old. He has
practiced Tae Kwon Do, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
and Boxing. His current focus is Thai
boxing and he trains at the Eastern
Academy of Martial Arts (EAMMA), in
Norfolk, VA under Coach Wahsei Miran, who
is the owner and operator of the gym.
Brian is passing down his knowledge of the
sport to both kids and adults as assistant
coach of the Muay Thai classes.
focusing on his accuracy, speed, rhythm,
consistency and training in some aspect
every day, Brian has his sights set on the
big overseas promotions such as: K-1
Global and Glory Fighting Championships.
After his last big TKO over veteran
Yahosuah Yahudah, K-1 has reached out to
him with a possible undercard appearance
in their mid-2013 event in the U.S.
Brian has had a prolific amateur
career. He is a testament of the validity
of the WKA as a farm system for fighters
to develop their skills and move through
the ranks. Brian has passed all the tests,
with a successful run as an amateur and a
blazing start as a pro, with 3 straight
KO’s, he is looking for bigger and better
challenges. Brian always prides himself on
being willing and able to step up to the
