With
the credentials of its founder and over forty
locations throughout New York, New Jersey,
Pennsylvania, Connecticut, and Florida, it is not
difficult to see why the TSMAA contingent at Lou
Neglia’s most recent Ring of Combat seemed to fill
the entire venue at the Tropicana with both their
presence and their enthusiasm. It is also not
surprising that members of this fight team have
done so well in the MMA world today—Daniel “Tiger”
Schulmann was ahead of his time. Already highly
trained for many years, Schulmann decided to
pursue the precursor to MMA, full contact bare
knuckle competition, long before MMA gained its
current popularity.
With the growth of the
sport, however, Schulmann has had the perfect
opportunity to train all his athletes to become
well-rounded and top-notch in every aspect of
their game, measuring the true effectiveness of
his fighters’ training by pitting them against top
contenders who also train MMA but still have their
own games to bring to the cage.
Schulmann
himself has had an exceptional career. Winning
more than 100 competitions and retiring
undefeated, he was the North American Mas Oyama
Full-Contact Karate Champion for six years
straight—a record that has yet to be matched. He
represented, among only seven other chosen
fighters, the United States in the World Open
Full-Contact Karate Championships in Tokyo.
Despite all his accomplishments in the world of
stand-up, Schulmann did not shirk the grappling
aspects of the martial arts, recognizing each
component as vital and necessary to create a truly
effective martial artist. He was inducted into the
NAGA Grappling Hall of Fame as a Founding Member
in 2005, and his organization has become one of
the top grappling schools in North America during
this decade.

TSMMA prides itself on being
able to offers its students and fighters training
for every aspect of the fight game in one place.
Instructed by pro fighters or top
trainers to pro fighters, TSMMA students learn
boxing, Muay Thai, wrestling, and No Gi Jiu Jitsu.
A strength and conditioning program also helps
keep students’ and fighters’ conditioning as sharp
as their technique.
TSMAA fighters fill
many of the most prestigious stand-up and MMA
cards around, such as Combat at the Capitale and
Ring of Combat. Schulmann’s can boast such
fighters as undefeated Nick Pace and undefeated
Middleweight Uriah Hall, who has also been named
top fighter in the World Combat League. TSMMA can
also be proud of Bellator Welterweight star Lyman
“Cyborg” Good.
The future looks bright for
Team Tiger Schulmann, and Schulmann has a long,
shining pathway to look back on from his early
days as a full contact fighter to his current
protégés’ success in the top arenas of today.
