New York, NY, August 16th, 2011 – TaKe On Productions announced today that the long revered martial art of “Muay Thai” kickboxing will come to the 7 Train Theater on Friday, September 9th at 7:30 p.m.

This exciting form of stand up fighting has exploded in popularity, with more NY residents now training in the ancient martial art than ever before. The top strikers from all of the premiere Tri-State area gyms will be competing on this fight card, which will also feature a mixture of the very best Muay Thai practitioners both nationally and internationally.

TaKe On Productions, New York’s top full contact fight promotion is bringing its 11th installment of World Kickboxing Association’s sanctioned Muay Thai kickboxing events to NYC. This event will showcase representatives from twelve of the top New York area gyms in addition to top fighters from around the states and abroad, and will be highlighted by very exciting Title Fight Main Event in which former New York Golden Gloves boxing champion Rami Ibrahim (27-6) will defend his WKA North American Lightweight professional title against Philippe Allaire Landreville (30-5) in what is sure to be a contender for top fight of 2011. Landreville trains alongside UFC Champion Georges St. Pierre at the world renowned TriStar Gym in Montreal Canada.

The night’s Co-Main Event will feature a Professional Heavyweight bout pitting World Combat League veteran Johnny Mckibben(5w-0L) from Janjira Muay Thai Wichita Kansas against TaKe On veteran and WKA Heavyweight North American Champion Brian Collette from Eastern Academy, Norfolk Virginia. Collette will be making his Pro Debut. Other fighters on the card include standouts from Kru Phil Nurse’s NYC gym The Wat, which is always well represented at TaKe On events.

The September 9th event will be the first event to be recorded for a television broadcast, with a long term TV deal to be announced at a later date.
