Justin Greskiewicz
Philadelphia, PA
Not
only a fighter, Justin Greskiewicz is now a gym owner
as well. Stay Fly Muay Thai of Philadelphia opened in
January of this year. As many full time gym owners
will attest, “That is taking up a lot of my time
recently.” He is grateful that he can make it a full
time occupation—like many Muay Thai devotees,
Greskiewicz is happy to live and breathe his chosen
occupation. Though he has some outside interests, such
as his motorcycle and going to the movies, he admits
that “free time is hard to come by.”
Despite
its time-consuming nature, Greskiewicz is finding
running his own place rewarding: “It's been amazing.
It really is the greatest atmosphere I’ve ever been a
part of at any gym. It's exciting.” He enjoys being
able to dedicate his time to teaching nearly all the
classes, working with top level fighter Eric Utsch,
and having great students and teammates to help out.
“I'm proud of them, and can't wait to see what the
future brings.”
He certainly has the
credentials to teach his chosen ar t of Muay Thai—with
21 professional wins, 9 of them
by knockout, and an impressive amateur run of 24
fights, including 6 more knockouts, Greskiewicz has
dedicate the last decade to a sport with which he
“fell in love instantly.”
Despite the hectic
gym schedule and his dedication to the development of
his students and fighters, Greskiewicz maintains his
goal to be a world champion and with over 60 fights
under his belt, he is more than on the way to
achieving his goal.
His advice to new fighters
is all about action. “Talk less, do more. Fighters
fight.” He eschews superficiality, like favorite gear
brands and walk-out songs and urges fighters to hone
all their focus into the work, into the fight. And
above all, “Respect the art, be humble, and know that
there is always someone better than you.”
