The WKA is proud to honor Yasmeen Salhani as
the February fighter of the month.
Fighting out of Rami Elite Gym in Philly trained by
World Muay Thai Pro Champion Rami Ibrahim.
With
an impressive amateur Muay Thai record of 21 wins (two
via knockout) and 11 losses Yasmine is excited and
anxious to turn pro on February 8 in a championship
fight.
Yasmeen began training at 19 years old;
“it was a way to channel my anger and deal with
personal problems”.
Yasmeen stated “I want to
go as far as I can in this sport so I can inspire as
many people as possible. I hope that I can help people
see that they can do anything they set their mind to”.
Yasmeen observes a daily training regimen of
waking up at 6 AM, going for a 4 to 6 mile run going
to training after work as the office manager at
Salhani Auto service; train for two hours then do some
after training work. i.e. sparring
In addition
to a victory in her final fight of the year on
December 21 for Friday Night Fights, Salhani was a WKA
2019 Nationals Gold Medal winner in the Glory Rules
Open Adults and Muay Thai Open Adults divisions. Prior
to these achievements in 2015 Yasmeen qualified,
competed and placed as a medalist in several divisions
at the WKA Unified World Championship in Spain.
Salhani’s advice for any new fighters is to “never
take a fight unless you’re 100% about it you have to
be there mentally physically and emotionally in order
to perform your best. If not you can really get hurt.
Fighting has to be something you really want”.
Congratulations to the WKA Fighter of the month
Yasmeen ‘Yasmeenian Devil’ Salhani!
