Sanctioning


Promoter's License

Please note that all promoters who wish to have their event sanctioned by WKA USA must first acquire a promoter’s license. Promoter's license is good for one calendar year from the day acquired to Dec 31 of that year, regardless of the number of months or events sanctioned in the licensed year..

All promoters must submit the Promoter’s Application Form a minimum of 60 days prior to any event they wish to be sanctioned (this can be done online here).


Sanctioning Request Form

All licensed promoters must submit the Sanctioning Request Form a minimum of 60 days prior to the event (this can be done online here).

For Sanctioned Events:
Your event will be posted in the Upcoming Events section. We will post your poster ad provided it is in .JPG, .JPEG, .GIF, or .TIFF format. We will also post the pre-fight and post-fight press releases you provide. The post-fight press release must include complete results. By licensing with the WKA USA a promoter agrees to the following terms:

Payment for approved sanctioning is due 30 days prior to event date. Once your event has been approved, it will be listed on our upcoming events page.
Promoter agrees to adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
Promoter agrees to adhere to and distribute copies of all WKA rules and regulations to participants.
Promoter agrees that images and likenesses of all WKA sanctioned events may be used and reproduced for promotional purposes.

To have an event sanctioned by the WKA USA, promoters must adhere to the following guidelines:
Have a current WKA USA promoter’s license
WKA licensed promoter agrees to only use WKA USA as the sole sanctioning organization during the term of their license, with the exception where jurisdiction requires the use of the State Athletic Commission.
Submit appropriate fees (see WKA Sanctioning Fees) a minimum of 30 days prior to the event
Provide medical insurance certificate and claim form to WKA office 15 days prior to event
Provide event liability insurance certificate naming WKA USA as named insured 15 days prior to event.
For events including professional matches, promoter must provide bond certificate 15 days prior to event.

All bouts must adhere to WKA USA rules and regulations [amateur rules; professional rules]
All fighters must be licensed by and registered with WKA USA [online here]. Please notify fighters prior to the event that the amateur license fee is $30 annually and the professional license fee is $35 annually. Any license fees not paid by the competitor will be charged to the promoter.
A WKA representative must be present at all events.
A physician must perform pre-fight medicals for all fighters and be present at ringside for the duration of all matches.
Medical transport must be present during all matches.
The promoter must provide water, ice, and changing facilities for competitors.
Promoters agree that at no time will they disburse or share any of the WKA USA’s intellectual property, lists, strategies or marketing materials without express written permission of the WKA USA.

Professional World Title
- $1,000 (paid 30 to 60 days in advance of the event)

*These fees apply to non-televised or co-sanctioned events. Depending on locality or state requirements. *Additional fees and Entertainment fees apply to broadcast, internet streamed, PPV events and other designated events.



CHANGE OF DATE AND CANCELLATION POLICY


1) Changed Event dates - Event dates that are changed or postponed more than 30 days from the event date, maybe changed without penalty, as long as the WKA USA does not have any schedule conflicts. Less than 30 days are at the discretion of the WKA USA and will be assessed a 20% penalty.

2) Canceled Event dates - Events that are canceled more than 30 days from the event date, may be used as a credit toward future events, fees or titles with prior WKA USA approval and must be within the same calendar year. Less than 30 days are at the discretion of the WKA USA and will be assessed a 30% penalty.

3) State or Tribal Commissioned Events - Events postponed or canceled, which are overseen by a state or tribal regulatory board, would be handled as follows: The portion of fees paid to the WKA would be transferred to the new date, which is mutually agreed to by WKA, state or tribal board, and promoter, providing date is within 90 days of original date. The WKA will assess a 10% penalty for administrate costs.

Each competitor must be registered with the WKA USA. For amateurs, the individual fighter license fee is $25 per calendar year; for professionals, it is $30 per calendar year. This fee may be paid by the promoter or by the individual competitor.
